Late Summer Flowers
Nature is glorious in my part of the Chilterns. Even as the early summer flowers are beginning to fade, they are replaced by the glorious blooms of late summer. These have the added advantage of usually being covered with bees, butterflies, hoverflies and other pollinators. What I can't understand is how I hadn't noticed these flowers before, which meant that I didn't take much interest in their names or their other intriguing characteristics. As I did my research on the plants I was finding and photographing, I realised how much I didn't know! This article was published in The Henley Standard on 30 July 2021.
