Nature for Absolute Beginners: Bees and Hoverflies

I started looking carefully at the bees in my garden and while on walks, and was amazed and humbled to learn about the different bee species, as well as the variety of their approaches to gathering nectar and pollen.

It didn't take long for me to start to notice the hoverflies that accompanied the bees in their pollinating activities. I never knew there were so many different hoverflies, or how important they are to the pollination of the plants in our gardens and on our farms. We truly live in a wonderful world.
